If you do, let me help you. I gained my experience in interpretation within this field of English when I acquired my motorcycle driving license in Australia where I lived and worked in Sydney from 2007 to 2008.
In my opinion, it is not sufficient that your interpreter can order two beers and a pizza in English. In a theoretical and practical driving test, the interpreter must be able to use the correct English terms. In a test technical terms like the “course of the road”, “duty to give way (to all traffic)” and “(steering wheel) backlash / “wobble”” will be used and to avoid any doubt about what the driving test examiner is asking about, it is essential that your interpreter knows the correct technical terms. Do you agree with me? If yes, you have found the right person to help you pass your driving test in English.
